Terms and Conditions
The provider agrees to teach, and a student agrees to learn according to the following terms & conditions:

Fee Arrangement (Two Instalments / Full)
a) A learner agrees to a full or two-installment contract beginning after the provider’s receipt of a signed contract with payment.
b) Language course payments are due on the first day of each level, and tuition course payments are due in consideration of the written agreement.
c) When a fee for two instalments is to be paid, it should not be less than the minimum amount.
d) Registration and material fees, depending on a language course, are included with tuition or language fees. A learner has to pay for these materials during their registration time.
e) Either in normal or online classes, there is no difference in charges. -
Service
a) A registered service is provided as Other Education, n.e.c., which is the main activity, and Educational Support Activities, which are the other activities. No other service is offered.
b) Language courses and tuition for students: both school and private candidate services are offered only in the agreed contract between a provider and a learner.
c) A learner agrees to register either for a normal class, an online class, or a home class.
d) Language courses are offered at either level or sub-level. A learner agrees to adhere to the duration indicated for each level.
e) A learner agrees to the class time and duration set for each level or class. Any change to time or duration made by a learner will not be accepted; hence, the learner will have to be responsible for that.
f) Language services include certification when each level (not sub-level) is completed. A learner from the On-site, Private or Online category is only certified when they sit for their final exam. This exam measures the learnt skills, and only 60 marks or above is a pass. A learner will not be awarded a certificate if they get below 60 marks.

Fee payment information
a) It is your responsibility to ensure that your payment is up-to-date and that all instalments are paid on time. You agree to pay for the services in advance of the time during which such services are provided.
b) Language courses and tuition for students, both school and private candidates; services are offered only in the agreed contract between a provider and a learner.
c) A learner who begins from level one and continues to the next level(s) will be awarded a discount on the next level(s).
d) The office reserves the right to change fees, the installation payment amount, the registration fee, or any other charges at any time. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice before making changes to our website. It is your responsibility to review our website. -
Cancellations and Refunds
a) No refunds will be given to any registered student.
b) No additional time or session for any session or course cancelled by the student
c) A learner agrees to pay half of the total fee when they postpone a class for more than two weeks to join the next class. A learner from a normal class becomes responsible for the days postponed. -
Trademarks & Copyrights
a) A learner hereby agrees that any provided material or publication will not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, statutory common law, or proprietary rights of others or contain anything harmful. -
Termination
This Agreement may be terminated by either party without cause by giving the other party 30 days’ written notice. Notwithstanding the above, providers may terminate service under this Agreement at any time without penalty if a learner fails to comply with the terms of this Agreement. If a learner fails to pay any fee due hereunder to Laoshi Institute of Languages, the learner’s conduct becomes harmful to Laoshi Institute of Languages or others, the learner violates the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the learner is abusive to Laoshi Institute of Languages’ staff in any manner, or for any other lawful reason, no refund shall be paid in this circumstance. -
Changes to the Agreement or the Service
We may change or modify this Agreement at any time. We will post a notice of changes on our website. The changes will be effective 30 days after they are posted. If you do not agree to abide by this Agreement, you are not authorised to use or access the Services.

All classroom services are subject to the general terms. A learner agrees to accept agreements as detailed.
- The fee paid is non-refundable. The fee must be paid during registration (once or in two instalments), not otherwise.
- If not for learning reasons allowed by the teacher, a learner is prohibited from using or playing with their phones, laptops, or any such devices during the class.
- A learner agrees to arrive on time. When session time is reached, the learner(s) are required to be in their respective classrooms. A learner can suspend a class with thoughtful reasons within a reasonable time from both sides (the school and the learner).
- For learning purposes, language classrooms do not take more than 10 students at once.
- If not allowed by a teacher, a learner is not allowed to interact with any activity haphazardly.

Classrooms are designed to enable learners to interact with knowledge in all skills (speaking, listening, writing, and reading) and activities initiated by a teacher. A learner agrees to actively participate in these activities as directed. Any learner who fails to do this may be required to participate more than others in different language activities.
- Any abusive behaviour caused by a teacher should be reported to the office in time. A learner is required not to remain silent or be afraid of reaching out to the office for further assistance.
- Under any circumstances, a learner is not required to move any movable furniture, including chairs, tables, and desks, without the permission of the office.

When there is no activity in the classroom, all lights and fans should be turned off.

For the best learning, positive relationships between the teacher and the learner are emphasised. No personal relationship is supported by the office. Both parties agree to be responsible for this issue.
- No drinking and/or eating anything during the session.
- No drawing on the desks, walls or chairs. When caught, you will be penalised 100,000 Tzs (for Tanzanians) or $20 (for non-Tanzanians).
- Only after passing the final exam can a student receive a certificate. The passing marks should not be below 60 out of 100.

Any disappearance for two weeks will be regarded as a discontinuity of the course. A learner will be required to pay half of the course fee to continue the class.
- A learner should always sit on chairs, not on tables nor elsewhere.
- All online services are subject to general and classroom terms (applicable ones). A learner agrees to accept agreements as detailed.
- No fee changes, regardless of the class type. Fees are calculated in terms of the class hour, not the class type. A learner agrees to abide by this agreement.
- The class will always be live, not recorded. A learner is required to register for this class only after ensuring their network stability. Any poor network stability initiated by a learner will not be part of the office’s responsibility.
- When class times and days are set, a learner agrees to keep up with the agreement. The office will not be responsible for any inconveniences caused by a learner.
- The fee is paid during the registration period (once or in two instalments).
